This FREE CRYPTO Copy Trading Calculator Shows EXACTLY How Much You Can Make
Copy trading sounds simple: find a trader with a public track record, mirror their positions automatically, and let the platform do the clicking. But "simple" doesn't mean "obvious." The question almost everyone asks first is the same one this video answers — if I put in $1,000, what do I actually walk away with after fees and profit sharing?
That's why the calculators exist. Instead of guessing what a 156% ROI means for your account, you plug in real numbers from a lead trader's public stats and see the math.
What Copy Trading Actually Is
Some traders trade crypto daily, weekly, or monthly, the same way others trade stocks. A few of them choose to make their trade history public and become what platforms call lead traders. You browse those traders, pick one, deposit funds, set your copy amount and settings, and the platform mirrors their entries and exits automatically.
The alternative is watching a screen 24 hours a day, guessing when someone in another time zone entered or exited a position. Automation is the entire point. If you want to understand the mechanics before funding anything, start with the fundamentals of how copy trading works in crypto for beginners and build from there.
Why would a trader let you copy them? Because they earn a cut of your profits. That's the profit-sharing ratio — and it only applies when there's profit.
Reading a Lead Trader's Stats Before You Copy
In the video, the example trader shows an ROI chart with selectable windows: 7, 30, 90, and 180 days. The 90-day window gets used because three months smooths out lucky weeks without hiding a recent collapse.
A few things worth noting from that profile:
- 97% of trades were Bitcoin. Concentration isn't automatically bad. A trader who specializes in one market may simply know it well.
- 95 trades over 90 days — roughly 30 a month, which matters for estimating fees.
- P&L in dollars is less useful than percent, because you don't know how much capital sits behind each trade.
- A 30% profit-sharing ratio is on the high side. Many lead traders sit closer to 10%.
Choosing well is the whole game, and it deserves more thought than picking the top row on a leaderboard. This walkthrough on which metrics matter when picking a lead trader covers what to look at beyond the headline ROI number.
Running the Profit Calculator
The profit calculator takes five inputs: starting capital, the trader's ROI, the profit-sharing fee, the time period, and an estimated trade count for fee calculation.
Using the video's example — $1,000 starting capital, 156% ROI over 90 days, 30% profit share, held for one year, 1,000 estimated trades — the output is roughly $30,000 in take-home profit on a $31,000 final balance. Gross profit before the profit share and trading fees was about $44,000. Effective ROI: roughly 3,000%.
Compare that to a bank paying 1% on $1,000, which returns $10.
An important caveat: that number assumes the trader repeats a 90-day performance four times in a row. Nobody should assume that. Past performance doesn't indicate future results. The calculator's job is to show you how compounding and profit sharing interact, not to promise an outcome. Settings, Platforms, and Staying On Top of It
Your settings determine whether you actually track the lead trader's performance. Get them wrong and your results won't match theirs.
The example in the video uses Bitunix, which publishes full lead-trader histories and offers a signup bonus through the link below. If you're evaluating where to start, this breakdown of setting up copy trading on Bitunix step by step covers the account and configuration side.
One more thing: don't set and forget. Spread across multiple traders, check performance weekly, and remember a lead trader can stop trading entirely or hit a drawdown you didn't plan for.
